Long John Special Reserve is a blended Scotch whisky with a 12-year age statement, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle by Long John Distilleries.
The nose opens with malt, cereal and toasted oak with creamy vanilla, along with hints of raisin, sherry and very light peat ash. On the palate it starts soft and oily, then turns sweet with caramel, vanilla and ripe fruit, set against herbal notes, fresh mint and a faintly bitter, smoky background. The finish is long and silky, with woody spice, dark chocolate and peaty smoke.
