This is an 18 year old Longrow, a Campbeltown single malt bottled in 2017 in a run of 4500 bottles. It is reportedly a vatting of whisky matured 60% in refill sherry casks and 40% in bourbon casks.
On the nose it combines sweet fruit, vanilla and oak with smoke and maritime notes. The palate is very creamy and oily, with grapefruit, passion fruit, caramel and further red fruit. The finish balances salty smoke against a gentle dark-fruit sweetness, and ends dry and long.
