Lowrie's is a Scotch blended malt from Thompson Bros, in a 70cl bottle at 45.7% ABV, with 1,600 bottles produced. It combines 20.5% Strathclyde single grain from 1994, aged 28 years in refill bourbon, 19.9% Speyside single malt from 2012, aged 11 years in a bourbon hogshead, and 51.6% blended Scotch from 2012, aged 10 years in a sherry hogshead. The remaining 8% is finished in a Campervan Brewery cask.
The nose brings pear eau de vie, pastis, white raisin, hops, popcorn and hay. The palate has caramelised malt, nougat, strawberries and orange marmalade. The finish is orange bitters, clove oil and ginger root, with a gentle saltiness.
