Luxardo Maraschino Originale Liqueur (75cl, 32%)

Luxardo Maraschino Originale is a cherry liqueur still made to the formula created by Girolamo Luxardo in 1821. Marasca cherries are infused for up to three years in larch-wood vats with leaves and branches of the same trees, then distilled in copper pot stills. Only the heart of the distillate is kept and matured in ash-wood vats, then sweetened with a simple syrup to 32% ABV. It is crystal clear, with the aroma of marasca cherry distillate and a roasted nuttiness. The taste is smooth yet sharp, with dark chocolate, vanilla and orange marmalade. The green bottle is hand-plaited in straw. It works in classic cocktails or neat after dinner.
