Luxardo Maraschino Originale Liqueur (70cl, 32%)

Luxardo Maraschino Originale is a clear cherry liqueur of Italian origin, first created in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo in the coastal city of Zara. It is made from the family's own marasca cherries, grown in their orchards near Padua. The cherries are infused with their leaves and pits in neutral spirit, then aged in Finnish ashwood vats for up to three years. The nose combines ripe cherry, almond and a faint floral sweetness. The palate is dry and balanced between sweetness and bitterness, with marasca cherry, vanilla, spice and a nutty note from the pits. The finish is long and clean, slightly woody, with a soft almond-cherry echo.
