This is Macallan 12 Years Old Sherry Oak, an older bottling of the Speyside single malt at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Sherry Oak range, whiskies matured exclusively in hand-picked, sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez.
The colour is a rich gold, and the character is mature, with wood spice and dried fruits.
The nose is complex with hints of vanilla. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, balancing fruit, oak and spice, and the finish is long, with sweet dried fruits, oak and spice.
