The Macallan 18 Years Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt matured for eighteen years in a vatting of American and European oak casks, both seasoned with sherry. This is the 2023 release.
The American oak is credited with vanilla, caramel and candied citrus, while the European oak adds dried fruit, soft spices and dark chocolate.
The palate is full and silky, with candied orange, raisins, ginger, cinnamon and toasted oak, leading to a long, warm finish.
