Macallan – 18 Years Old Colour Collection (70cl, 43%)

Macallan 18 Years Old Colour Collection is a Speyside single malt matured for 18 years, mostly in American oak with a smaller share of European oak. Every cask was seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera beforehand. It was released in 2023 and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour. The American oak contributes lemon and vanilla, the European oak dried fruit, spice and orange, and the sherry seasoning adds almonds and toffee. The colour is a pale chestnut brown. Clementine, panna cotta and baked apple meet sultanas and sweet oak on the nose. The palate brings vanilla sponge and milk chocolate with orange, citrus peel, oak and honeycomb, and the medium-length finish ends on sweet oak and orange.
