This is a single cask Macallan from Speyside, distilled on 30 October 1980 and bottled in November 2000 for the Mackillop's Choice series by Iain MacKillop & Co. Ltd. It matured for around 20 years in a bourbon cask and comes at a cask strength of 60.3%.
Bourbon wood is less usual for Macallan than sherry, and here it is described as bringing light fruit, vanilla, creamy notes and spicy oak to the fore.
