Macallan Rare 2023 is a single malt from Macallan in a 70cl bottle, made as a 2023 edition in collaboration with Charlie Burchill of the band Simple Minds. The collaboration links music and whisky-making.
It was matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks, which give the whisky a raisin flavour.
In the glass it is described as rich and complex, with caramel and toffee at the front and hints of nutmeg and ginger layered behind.
Tasting Notes
Raisin, caramel and toffee, with nutmeg and ginger
