An Aba is the lightly peated, sherried signature expression from Macaloney's, a Canadian island single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a marriage of several cask types: Kentucky bourbon casks, Spanish oloroso barriques, Portuguese shaved-toasted-re-charred red wine barriques, virgin American oak and Spanish Pedro Ximenez casks. The nose combines light peat with fresh pine, orange liqueur, rum and raisin fruit cake, liquorice and ripe banana. The palate is creamy, with medium peat, burnt heather and bonfire embers, then prunes, dried figs, marzipan and malted milk. It ends dry, with light peat and a seaside character.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
