This is a 16 year old Macduff single malt from the Highlands, finished in a Rioja red wine octave cask. It is bottled at a cask strength of 53.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose opens with fresh raspberries and red fruit compote, then hazelnut, milk chocolate, caramel and dark berries. On the palate a spicy start gives way to juicy sweetness, with raspberry, redcurrant, wild strawberry and cherry, alongside hazelnut and dark chocolate. The finish is medium in length and turns drier, with bitter chocolate, berries and dry spice.
