Macduff – 1997-2023 25 Year Old Douglas Laing XOP Single Cask DL17100 (70cl, 52.5%)

This is a single cask Highland Macduff, distilled in May 1997 and bottled by Douglas Laing in January 2023 for their Xtra Old Particular range. It spent 25 years in refill hogshead DL17100 and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.5% in a 70cl bottle, without added colouring or chill filtration. The cask gave 280 bottles. Macduff distillery was established in the early 1960s on the River Deveron. Much of its output goes into blends, and official single malts usually appear as Glen Deveron. Douglas Laing's notes describe honey-glazed fruits and gentle spice on the nose, a palate full of citrus and mint, and a long finish of barley spice, cinnamon and puff pastry.
