A single cask Macduff from the Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range by Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled in 2006 and matured for 17 years in a refill bourbon barrel, then bottled on 6 August 2024 at 54.9% ABV. The barrel gave 180 bottles, each of 70cl, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
It is pale gold and unpeated, with fresh orchard fruit and blossom alongside tropical fruit and a creamy sweetness.
The nose offers green apple, lemon and blossom, then poached pear, tropical fruit and vanilla cream. On the palate sweet pineapple and banana move into milk chocolate, followed by orange and lime peel and butterscotch. The finish is sweet and medium in weight, with a note of mint.
