This Macduff was distilled in 2007 and bottled by Signatory Vintage on 22 March 2024 after 16 years of maturation. It is part of the 100 Proof Exceptional Cask series and is a Highland single malt bottled at 57.1%.
The whisky matured entirely in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose combines dried fruit, cherries, figs and honey with vanilla, chocolate, leather and warm oak. The palate is full and intense, with dark fruit, plums, berry jam, fudge, muscovado sugar, cocoa and spice. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, honey, blackberries, ginger, oak and a touch of dryness.
