Macduff – 2009/2024 15 Year Old PX Cask Finish (70cl, 55.2%)

This Macduff was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024 at 15 years old and 55.2%. It was matured in a hogshead and then finished for 20 months in a first fill ex-Pedro Ximenez cask, which adds sweetness to the spirit without the strong tannins usually associated with that type of cask. Macduff comes from a distillery founded in Banff, at the mouth of the River Deveron, and is described as a medium bodied, sweet distillate with nutty and spice notes. Expect dried fruit, dark chocolate and muscovado sugar in the glass.
