This is a single cask Highland single malt from Macduff, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2022 after nine years and nine months in an active sherry hogshead. It is bottled at a cask strength of 51.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose brings dry Oloroso, nutmeg, pepper, warm hazelnuts and cashews, with vanilla, unsweetened cocoa, dark chocolate, an old spice cabinet and a hint of old tobacco pipe.
The palate is soft, with dry Oloroso, cocoa, dark chocolate, dried orange peel and dusty spice. Water brings a winey oiliness and a creamier, coffee-cream character. The finish is dry, with white pepper, tannic bitterness, dark chocolate and coffee.
