Mackinlay's Blended Malt (47.3%)

Mackinlay's Blended Malt is a Scotch blended malt bottled at 47.3%, made only from single malts and matured in oak casks. It takes its inspiration from the whisky Sir Ernest Shackleton left behind on his Antarctic expedition in 1907, and the blend aims at the style of the early 1900s. The nose brings malted grain, vanilla, honey and baked apple, with orange peel, caramel and a little peat. The palate has dried fruit, spice, toffee and light smoke, and the finish is smooth and long, with sweetness and a spicy warmth.
