Mackmyra Brukswhisky is the core single malt from Mackmyra in Sweden, bottled at 41.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is a light whisky matured mainly in first fill bourbon barrels, with some aged in sherry and Swedish oak casks, and a portion of smokier malt added to the mix.
The nose is fresh and delicate, with vanilla pods, pine nuts, pine needles, raspberry bushes and mixed peel, plus savoury touches of Ryvita and Sesame Snaps. On the palate come vanilla cream, custard, red berries, boiled sweets and warming bourbon richness. The finish is spicy oak and apple pie, staying light.
