Maiz Nation Whiskey Blanco is an unaged Mexican whiskey, non-chill-filtered and bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled from four ancient corn varieties of Oaxaca: Chalqueño, Bolita, Tepecintle and Olotillo.
The corn comes directly from Zapotec, Mixtec and Chinantec smallholding farmers and is stoneground on site. It is mashed with rainwater and distilled very slowly on small solar-powered copper alembics at the off-grid SolCraft Distillery in San Agustín Etla.
The flavours are sweet corn, tropical fruit and floral grain, with a creamy, textured palate.
