Maltbarn Caol Ila 15 Year Old 2007 is a limited-edition Islay single malt distilled at Caol Ila in 2007 and bottled in 2023 by the German independent bottler Maltbarn. It is bottled at 52.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 153 bottles produced.
The whisky spent 15 years maturing in a single sherry cask, which brings rich fruit and spice to Caol Ila's maritime peat smoke.
The nose combines coastal peat smoke with dried fruit, citrus zest, toasted oak and gentle sherry sweetness. The palate is full-bodied and smoky, with dried fruit, dark chocolate, orange peel and warming spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, cocoa and gently drying oak.
