This is a Caol Ila single malt from Malts of Scotland, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2019 at 52.7% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a sherry hogshead, and 220 bottles were filled.
The nose is soft and coastal, with white flowers, crushed seashells, chalk, light petrol and citrus, and a little vanilla and sherry behind. The palate is oily and salty, with sweet peat smoke, lemon, seaweed and medicinal notes, joined by herbal tea, light chocolate and dried fruit. The finish is long, lemony and saline, with fragrant smoke, sandalwood, pink sea salt and gently ashy peat.
