A 15 year old Mannochmore single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2010 and finished for 21 months in a rum cask. It is bottled by A Dream of Scotland in a 70cl bottle.
The rum cask shows at once on the nose, with pronounced high-ester notes of pineapple, mango and papaya, alongside juicy raisins and dark chocolate. Marzipan, brown sugar and dark caramel follow.
The palate is sweeter than the nose suggests, with crushed raisins, stewed plums, toffee, a little coconut and fine cardamom. The finish is very long, led by dark chocolate and raisins, with exotic fruit, ginger and a little cinnamon.
