Markhor Bourbon is a straight bourbon distilled in the United States, made from a grain bill of at least 51% corn with rye and malted barley, and matured in new, charred American oak barrels. It is named after the markhor, a wild mountain goat.
The nose is corn sweetness, vanilla bean and caramelised sugar, with ripe orchard fruit, baking spice, toasted oak and honey. The palate is medium to full in body, with caramel, butterscotch and brown sugar, then black pepper, gentle rye heat and light leather. The finish is warm and moderately long, with vanilla, oak spice and sweet grain.
