Mars – Iwai Blended Japanese Whisky (75cl, 40%)

Mars Iwai is a blended Japanese whisky named after Kiichiro Iwai, regarded as a quiet pioneer of whisky-making in Japan. It is bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. The blend takes its inspiration from American whiskey: mostly corn, balanced with light malt whisky and aged in ex-bourbon barrels. It is meant for easy sipping, and also works in a mint julep or an old fashioned. The tasting notes describe a sweet whisky with pear, quince, hints of red fruits and vanilla.
