This is Mars Iwai Tradition, a Japanese blended whisky made up of 75% malt and 25% corn and grain spirit, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. It was bottled in 2013 for Japan and Singapore, with 2,495 bottles released. The blend was finished for more than a year in red wine barrels from Chateau Mars, the winery of Hombo Shuzo, which makes Mars whisky. The spirit was aged in the stone warehouse at Tsunuki distillery in Kagoshima. On the nose it is described as red berries, claret and croissants, with a finish likened to summer pudding and vanilla slice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
