Mars Single Malt Tsunuki 2023 Edition (70cl, 50%)

Mars Single Malt Tsunuki 2023 Edition is the fourth release of single malt distilled at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, and the second to carry a year edition label. The distillery lies in the green mountains of the southwest Satsuma Peninsula, and its spring water comes from Mt. Kurata. The whisky is a vatting of malts matured in a variety of barrels, mainly bourbon barrels, and is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The nose offers marmalade, loquat, honey and pancakes, with a faint peaty note. The palate is fresh with lemon peel citrus and a thick malty flavour, and the finish is full-bodied and sweet with a pleasant bitterness.
