Mars Single Malt Tsunuki 2024 Edition is the fifth release of Single Malt Tsunuki, made at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in the green mountains of the southwest Satsuma Peninsula. The distillery was established in 2016. It is a vatting of malts matured mainly in bourbon barrels and sherry casks, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The label shows a pot still from the distillery.
It was named Best Japanese Single Malt at the 2025 World Whisky Awards.
The nose brings tart cake, strawberry jam, orangette and leather. The palate is full-bodied and sweet, with bitter chocolate, cheesecake and blackberry. The finish is long, with the sweetness and fullness of barley.
