Mars Single Malt Tsunuki 2025 Edition (70cl, 49%)

Single Malt Tsunuki 2025 Edition is a single malt released in 2025 from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, in the hills south-west of the Satsuma Peninsula. It is a vatting of malt whisky from various casks, mainly bourbon and sherry, distilled between 2017 and 2021, mostly in 2020. This is the fourth Annual Edition, bottled at 49% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and reddish amber in colour, with peat at 5-6ppm. The label shows the distillery's warehouse. The nose is sweet, heavy and fruity, with raisins, orangette and chocolate-covered barley puffs. The palate layers cacao bitterness with citrus peel freshness, and the finish is a balance of soft smokiness and rich sweetness.
