Mars Single Malt Tsunuki 2026 Edition (70cl, 49%)

Single Malt Tsunuki 2026 Edition is a single malt released in 2026 from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, in the hills south-west of the Satsuma Peninsula. It is a vatting of whisky from various casks, mainly bourbon and sherry, distilled between 2017 and 2022, mostly in 2020 and 2021. This is the fifth Annual Edition, bottled at 49% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered, reddish amber in colour, with a theoretical peat level of 5ppm. The nose is rich and bright, with cheesecake and orangettes wrapped in soft white smoke. On the palate, juicy pear compote sits alongside almond chocolate. The finish is long, full-bodied and complex, with lingering fruit.
