Mars Single Malt Tsunuki Bartender's Selection Jupiter (70cl, 54%)

Mars Single Malt Tsunuki Bartender's Selection Jupiter is a Japanese single malt made at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima Prefecture. It was released for Chinese customers as part of a planned series named after the planets, and is a batch of several casks, in a 70cl bottle. Bourbon barrels form the base, with some American white oak barrels added so that only their better wood character shows. A small portion of cherry wood base spirit adds acidity and freshness. The nose is custard cream, white bean paste, Japanese sweets, almonds and white flowers. The palate is woody, powerful and full-bodied in its sweetness, with a smooth mouthfeel. The finish is soft, and the sweetness lingers moderately.
