This is a Japanese single malt from the Tsunuki Distillery of Mars, distilled in 2017 and released in 2020 in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is one of the first single malts from the distillery, which began operating in November 2016. About 500 bottles were made for Minami-Satsuma City.
The whisky was matured in a bourbon barrel, with a light peating of 3.5 ppm, and aged on Yakushima Island.
The nose offers wet mulch, malt and wood chips with dried banana, melon and green apple. The palate is oak-led, with malt, tropical fruit, honey, cacao and red apple. The finish brings nuts, oak, spice and white pepper.
