Mars Tsunuki 2023 Edition (70cl, 50%)

This is the 2023 release from Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima, the second distillery of the Hombo Shuzo Group, which opened in 2016. It is a Japanese single malt bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 35,800 bottles released. It is the fourth single malt release distilled at Tsunuki and the second in the annual Year Edition. The whisky spent about six years in bourbon barrels. The nose offers marmalade, honey, pancake and a subtle smoke. Citrus fruit, lemon peel and fresh malt show on the palate, and the finish is full, sweet and pleasantly bitter.
