Martell Chanteloup is an extra-old (XXO) cognac named after Château de Chanteloup, the Martell family estate. It is a blend of up to 450 eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois, aged from 14 to over 50 years.
The eaux-de-vie are double distilled in copper Charentais pot stills and aged in Limousin oak, then rested in glass demijohns after the oak ageing. It was launched in 2011 as Chanteloup Perspective.
The nose offers honeyed peach, apricot, fig, toasted almond and a hint of mocha. The palate is intensely fruity, with vine peach, candied orange and balanced spice, and the finish is very persistent and velvety.
