Meikle Toir The Original is a peated single malt from The GlenAllachie Distillery, aged for five years and bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The peat level is 35 ppm.
It was matured in first-fill bourbon casks, American virgin oak casks and rye barrels. The smoke is gentle rather than heavy, and the whisky is balanced.
The nose is delicately smoky, with cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, nuts and butterscotch. On the palate it has an oily texture, sweet peat, grain, honey, cinnamon, ginger and oak. The finish is long, with almond and peat.
