Merlot DOP Colli Orientali - Di Gaspero

Merlot DOP Colli Orientali from Di Gaspero is a red wine from marl and sandstone soils, trained on Guyot and harvested in the first decade of October. After destemming with whole berries, the must is pumped over for seven or eight days in cask before pressing and further ageing in cask. It is an intense ruby red with aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. The palate is dry, structured and savoury, suited to white and red meats and medium-aged cheeses.
