Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso DOP Colli Orientali

A red wine made from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, produced by Di Gaspero in the Colli Orientali area. The grapes are destemmed while keeping the berries whole, with pump-overs lasting seven or eight days in cask to reach the desired colour and tannin, before pressing and further evolution in cask. It is ruby red with violet reflections that soften with ageing. The aroma is intense, herbaceous and vinous, with notes of wild blackberry and forest fruits. The flavour is decisive, slightly tannic and pleasantly bitter, and it pairs well with fatty meats, grilled meats and rustic Friulian dishes.
