A Merlot from Fontana Candida with an immediate profile. In the glass it shows a bright ruby colour and a bouquet favouring ripe red fruit, with cherry and plum, discreet floral notes and a light spicy vein. The sip is soft and well balanced, with smooth tannins and freshness giving drive; medium body offers a pleasant, easy-to-appreciate persistence.
It works well with traditional dishes, less structured meat preparations, savoury first courses and medium-aged cheeses. A brief aeration before serving accentuates its roundness, and serving around 16-18 °C shows it at its best.
