Mezcal Alberto Ortiz Espadin Palenque (70cl)

Mezcal Alberto Ortiz Espadin is made in Oaxaca from Agave Espadin. The agaves are cooked in a stone oven in a traditional palenque, then distilled in small copper stills. The nose shows sweet smoke with balsamic and mineral notes. On the palate it is enveloping, with spice, citrus and a soft, persistent finish; the finish is long and clean. It can be sipped neat or with lime and salt, and pairs with Mexican dishes such as tacos or ceviche, as well as sophisticated cocktails.
