Mezcal Onofre Ortiz Mexicano - Palenque (70cl)

Mezcal Onofre Ortiz Mexicano is produced at the palenque of Onofre Ortiz in Oaxaca from agave Espadín grown on the surrounding hills. The agave is cooked underground in wood-fired ovens, crushed by hand, fermented spontaneously in wooden vats and slowly distilled in copper stills. This gives intense smoky notes, fresh herbal agave, mineral hints and a delicate caramel sweetness. On the palate it is full-bodied and enveloping, evoking the earth and fire of its origin. It suits aperitifs or savoury Mexican dishes such as aged cheeses, grilled and spiced meats.
