Millstone Single Malt Special #17 is an eight-year-old Dutch single malt made at Zuidam from unpeated malted barley. It was distilled on 21 December 2010 and bottled on 4 September 2019 at 46% in a 70cl bottle, from an edition of 2,460 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky matured in American oak and Moscatel casks. The grain for this release was ground in Dutch windmills, which the Millstone name refers to.
The nose is fresh, with clear wine notes and burnt and dark sugar behind them. The palate is sweet and lighter than the nose suggests, with a noticeable wine influence and a fairly thin mouthfeel. The finish is short to medium, with sugar, a hint of Moscatel and caramel.
