This is a 14 year old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by Moonbroch as Spaceman in a 70cl bottle at 51.8% ABV.
The whisky was distilled in August 2007 and matured in a hogshead until it was bottled in March 2022.
The nose opens with barnacles on a dockside, kippers and ashy embers, then turns to green apple, pear drops and light caramel. The palate is intensely smoky and goes on and on. The finish is cracker dry, leaving a smoky savouriness on the tongue.
