This is a ten-year-old Mortlach, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 by Signatory Vintage as Small Batch Edition #6. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in Bolgheri red wine casks, which add red-wine depth, fruitiness and warm oak notes.
The nose has red berries, grapes, soft spices and light chocolate. The palate is full and fruity, with a warm wine influence, dark fruits, oak and hints of caramel. The finish is long, spicy and slightly sweet, and nicely rounded.
