Mortlach – 12 Year Old The Wee Witchie 2.81 Distilled (43.4%)

This is Mortlach 12 Year Old The Wee Witchie, a Speyside single malt bottled at 43.4% ABV. It is made using the distillery's 2.81 distillation, in which six stills of different sizes work together. The smallest, the Wee Witchie, helps keep heavier, more characterful components in the spirit. Mortlach was founded in Dufftown in 1823 and is known as the Beast of Dufftown, for a style noticeably stronger than the usual Speyside profile. Worm tub condensers add to that weight. The whisky matures in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which bring sweet vanilla, fruit and spicy cask character.
