Mortlach 12 Year Old The Wee Witchie is a Speyside single malt from Dufftown, matured for 12 years in a combination of European and American oak casks.
The distillery describes its spirit as distilled 2.81 times, using six stills. The name refers to Mortlach's smallest still, part of that distillation. Mortlach is also known as The Beast of Dufftown.
The nose offers dark fruit, caramel and toasted oak, with warming spice and savoury notes. The palate is full-bodied, with dried fruits, caramel, vanilla, oak spice and dark chocolate. The finish is warming and persistent, with fruit, spice, oak and rich malt.
