Mortlach – 12 Year Old Vintage 2013 Refill Hogshead Master of Malt (61.6%)

A single cask Mortlach from Dufftown in Speyside, bottled by Master of Malt at a cask strength of 61.6%. It was distilled in May 2013, spent twelve years in a refill hogshead and was bottled in June 2025. Mortlach was founded in 1823 and is known as the Beast of Dufftown. Its spirit comes from a 2.81 times distillation using six differently sized stills, including the small one called the Wee Witchie, and worm tub condensers help keep the robust, meaty character. The refill hogshead gives less intense wood influence than a more active oak cask.
