Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead
A twelve-year-old Mortlach from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, matured entirely in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead for the Wormtub Single Cask series. The cask gave 324 bottles, filled at a natural cask strength of 61.6% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour. Atom Brands put the series together from single casks of Scottish distilleries that still use wormtub condensers. Mortlach is one of the five bottlings in the first series. The nose offers malty bread, sweet barley, ripe stone fruit and honey, with caramel, condensed milk and poached pear. The palate is dense and full, with sherry, golden syrup, candied orange and pineapple, warming pepper and dry oak. The finish is long and syrupy, turning slightly nutty and oily before a last note of orange.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
