Mortlach 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Distillery Labels range, at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured for 15 years in a combination of first-fill and refill ex-sherry casks.
The nose opens malty, with fresh woodland hedgerow aromas, then delicate sherry, toffee, sweet liquorice and orange marmalade. The palate recalls Black Forest cake, with blackcurrant jam, maraschino cherry and creamy vanilla, lifted by freshly peeled orange. The finish is well rounded, with candied citrus, oak and a lingering malty edge.
