This is a 15 year old Mortlach from the Speyside distillery, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Distillery Labels range. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is distinctly malty at first, with hints of woodland hedgerow, delicate sherry, rich toffee, sweet liquorice and orange marmalade. On the palate it recalls Black Forest cake, with blackcurrant jam, maraschino cherry and creamy vanilla, lifted by freshly peeled orange.
