This Mortlach 17 Year Old was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2025 by Signatory Vintage, at 48.9% in a 70cl bottle. Mortlach is a Dufftown distillery founded in 1823, known for its 2.81 times distillation. It matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, cask #800123, rather than the sherry casks Mortlach is usually associated with. It was bottled without dilution or chill filtration, at natural cask strength. The nose has vanilla, honey, peach and apricot, with light oak spice, wax and a hint of fresh bread and butter. On the palate come caramel, vanilla and coconut, then dried fruit, nutty oak, ginger and white pepper. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla, oak, gentle fruit sweetness and a mineral quality.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
